Real life skills, for use in the real world

Some decide that further education isn't for them, they’d rather further their life skills. In the Royal Navy, there are opportunities to earn while you learn and travel the world with the best friends you’ll ever make.

Whether you choose to work on a ship, submarine, in a shore base or an air station, all new recruits will start on one of our intermediate apprenticeship schemes with the opportunity to gain advanced and even higher apprenticeships in the future.

Life at sea

With socials every evening, it’ll be at home away from home. Your crewmates, will become more than your friends, you’ll be part of the same Royal Navy family. You’ll stick together through all your triumphs and challenges, from your passing out parade to your first deployment. They’ll have your back, and you’ll have theirs. On top of that, you won't lose sight of shore, with free calls home and 6 weeks holiday every year.

Your future

Joining the Royal Navy doesn't just set you up with skills for life and a good wage from day one. You’ll experience travel, adventure, friendships and challenges - no two days will be the same. A career with the Royal Navy offers you more than any job you’ll find in civilian life, you’ll go places you've never been, experience things you wouldn't anywhere else, and develop skills you don't even know you have yet.
